Montblanc No.44 produced between 1945 and 1946 after the World War II for the soldiers of the victorious powers who were stationed in Germany.
The clip, the push button and the cap ring were made of inexpensive aluminium instead of expensive brass which would have had to be elaborately coated. The fountain pen itself was made of
bakelite and not celluloid or hard rubber as was common at the time.
There is no Montblanc logo on the cap head, but there is a nice lettering on the cap.
I had to install a new ink sac, a new clip and a new push button. I made the push button from new aluminium.
A historically very interesting fountain pen from the post-war era by Montblanc.
